BVNA Member Sarah Batt-Williams is carrying out research on the experiences of those who are formally responsible for training student veterinary nurses (SVN’s) in the veterinary practice. The researchers are interested in the views from Clinical Coaches if there are any factors that affect overall confidence and enjoyment of the role.

The researchers of this study work at the Royal Veterinary College, within the Centre for Veterinary Nursing, however they are not directly involved in practice-based teaching or clinical supervision. This study has arisen out of an interest in recording the experiences of Clinical Supervisors in a formal manner after identifying a clear gap in the research in this field, rather than a vested interest in the subject.  This will therefore be an independent review, with any recommendations arising from the study, benefiting all.
