ABSTRACT: This is the second part of a two-part article outlining the pathophysiology of sepsis and the implementation of a critical care framework to assist veterinary nurses to understand the disease and how to care for these critically ill patients.

Emma has been working in veterinary practice for over twenty years qualifying in 2002. She has worked at first opinion, charity, referral and emergency hospitals and gained the RCVS Advanced Diploma in 2015 and ISFM Feline Medicine Diploma in 2018. Her special interests are in anaesthesia, ECC and theatre practice. She currently works at a small animal first opinion and referral hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and is the BVNA Regional Representative for Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
