Have you recently completed data collection for a research project? Perhaps you have wondered how to develop your skills to be able to speak at a future BVNA Congress? Whether you are in the process of completing a dissertation, have worked with an interesting case in practice, or maybe an unusual scenario led to a change in your practice protocols – we’d like to hear from you!
Held during BVNA Congress, Research Bites provides an opportunity for those who have undertaken research relevant to the veterinary nursing profession to showcase their findings in the form of posters and short oral presentations.
We are excited to announce that, alongside research projects, we will be incorporating two new submission categories in 2020:
• Student veterinary nurses – case reflection
• Registered veterinary nurses – case reflection
Research Bites is designed to provide a friendly and constructive platform for veterinary nurses and students with little experience of public speaking. The event is a fantastic opportunity to develop presenting skills, whilst discussing and sharing best nursing practice, and increasing the evidence base available to the profession. Being shortlisted to present at BVNA Congress is a great addition to your CV, with prizes awarded for Best Poster and Best Presentation. If you’d prefer not to deliver a verbal presentation, you can also opt to submit your work as a poster only.
If you would be interested in presenting your research or case reflection and receiving a complimentary day ticket to BVNA Congress 2020, we would like to invite you to submit a brief abstract/summary based on your proposed presentation by 30th June 2020. All submissions will be peer-reviewed and, if shortlisted, you will be invited to present your poster/presentation at BVNA Congress on Saturday 10th October 2020.
Further details are available on the BVNA website, or alternatively, please feel free to contact BVNA Education Manager Charlotte Bullard at charlotte@bvna.co.uk
