Maintaining standards of welfare in hospitalised rabbits by Laura Rosewell
ABSTRACT Rabbits are the third most popular pet in Britain (Fraser & Girling, 2009). Over time, campaigns such as Rabbit Awareness Week have helped to dispel common misconceptions about their husbandry and promote responsible rabbit ownership. This has led to an increase in the number of rabbits being vaccinated, neutered, and insured (PDSA, 2014). With an increase in the number of rabbits entering veterinary surgery, the RVN must be aware of their health and welfare requirements during hospitalization.
