How to manage canine cognitive dysfunction through diet, drugs and behavioural interventions by Louise Stott RVN
ABSTRACT: Canine cognitive dysfunction (CCD) is a behavioral change that can occur in geriatric dogs, and is associated with impairments in learning and memory. CCD can impact the human-animal bond due to the reduction in the animal’s quality of life and the owner being unable to cope with behavioral changes associated with CCD. However, early diagnosis of CCD is key in managing the condition, as its progression can be delayed with diet, medical and behavioral interventions.
