You are considered to be disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a “substantial” and “long-term” negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities or if you are diagnosed with cancer, multiple sclerosis or HIV infection. Substantial means more than trivial or minor and long term means twelve months or more.
