Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month
16 June 2023
BVNA Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month competition winners announced
During May 2023, the veterinary profession celebrated the 12th annual Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month (VNAM), proudly spearheaded by the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). This year, our campaign theme was ‘empowerment’ – showcasing the wide-ranging contributions veterinary nurses make within both clinical and non-clinical settings.
We invited veterinary teams to enter our VNAM video competition to tell us “What do VNs mean to your practice?”. We were delighted that so many members of the practice team came together to produce some fantastic videos which highlight the vital role of their veterinary nurses.
The list of winners and runners-up are:
- Category Winner – Fenton Vets
- Runners-Up – Swift Referrals and Park House Veterinary Centre
All video entries can be found on YouTube here.
BVNA President Charlotte Pace said:
“We would like to thank all those who took the time to send us videos and enter our Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month competition – judging has been incredibly tough! As with every year, it has been so inspiring to see veterinary practices everywhere engaging with VNAM, and celebrating their veterinary nurses in the way they deserve. We have loved seeing all the ways that veterinary nurses contribute to their practice, showcased to clients and the wider profession.
“Congratulations to our 2023 competition winners, Fenton Vets, for showing their appreciation for their veterinary nurses amongst the whole team, really highlighting the significant impact SVNs and RVNs have within their practice. Our two runners up, Swift Referrals and Park House Veterinary Centre, also truly embraced this year’s competition theme by showcasing the diverse skills and capabilities of their veterinary nurses. All of our entries were of such a high standard, and all have played a role in increasing awareness of our fantastic profession as part of VNAM 2023.”
