Following its recent council election, the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) are pleased to welcome a new successful candidate, Kate Davies, who will take one of the two student seats which were available in 2023.
To be eligible for a student seat, candidates must be in training at the time of their ratification at the BVNA AGM, held each October at BVNA Congress. Previously successful student candidate Ellis Stokes has recently qualified as an RVN, and so is now ineligible to take a student seat. Ellis has therefore withdrawn her candidacy from the election.
Kate Davies will now be ratified in October alongside fellow student candidate Poppy Meredith, to join existing student council member Bronwyn Bailey – making up the full three student seats on BVNA Council.
BVNA President Charlotte Pace commented:
“Those who hold our student seats are essential members of BVNA Council, to ensure we represent the veterinary nursing profession at all career stages including during training. We were delighted this year to have a sufficient number of student nominations to hold an election for the two available seats.
“We wish Ellis the best of luck in her career as a now Registered Veterinary Nurse and we thank her for her time and efforts in putting herself forward for election, along with all of this year’s candidates. BVNA Council look forward to welcoming both Kate and Poppy to take on our new student seats, following their ratification at the AGM on Sunday 8th October.”
