Have you recently completed data collection for a research project? Perhaps you have wondered how to develop your skills to be able to speak at a future BVNA Congress? Whether you are in the process of completing a dissertation, have worked with an interesting case in practice, or maybe an unusual scenario led to a change in your practice protocols – we’d like to hear from you!

Held during BVNA Congress, Research Bites provides an opportunity for those who have undertaken research relevant to the veterinary nursing profession to showcase their findings in the form of posters and optional short oral presentations.

We are pleased to announce that, following the introduction of two brand new case reflection categories during Research Bites 2020, the following categories are now open for abstract submissions:

• Research projects

• Student veterinary nurses – case reflection

• Registered veterinary nurses – case reflection

Research Bites is designed to provide a friendly and constructive platform for veterinary nurses and students to discuss and share best nursing practice, while increasing the evidence base available to the profession. Being shortlisted to display your poster at BVNA Congress is also a great addition to your CV!

If you are interested in developing your public speaking skills, the Research Bites event is also a fantastic opportunity for those with little experience of public speaking to gain confidence in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. In addition to your poster display, you can opt to deliver a verbal presentation of your research or case reflection. Prizes will be awarded for Best Poster and Best Presentation during the event.

If you would be interested in presenting your research or case reflection, and receiving a complimentary day ticket to BVNA Congress 2021, we would like to invite you to submit a brief abstract/summary based on your proposed presentation.

Key dates are as follows:

• Friday 2nd July 2021 – Deadline for abstract submissions

• Friday 6th August 2021 – Notification of whether your abstract has been accepted for presentation

• Friday 10th September – Deadline for the submission of successful candidates' poster (and PowerPoint presentation document, if applicable)

Please refer to the BVNA website for further information, or alternatively, please feel free to contact BVNA Education Manager Charlotte Bullard at charlotte@bvna.co.uk.

Good luck – and we look forward to reading your submissions!
