Reducing stress in canine patients while hospitalised in a veterinary practice – a review part 2 by Stephanie Almond
ABSTRACT: Part 1 explored the effect stress can have on our patients and some practices which can be implemented to reduce stress whilst at the hospital. Part 2 evaluates how well we can measure and perceive levels of stress and further ideas on how to limit and prevent stress, based on evidence-based research.

Stephanie graduated from Hartpury College in 2013 with a BSc(Hons)
Degree in Veterinary Nursing Science and passed the RCVS Advanced Diploma in 2017. She has worked in a number of small animal practices and recently started at Langford Veterinary Hospital. She has a particular interest in care of hospitalised patients as well as theatre, analgesia and anaesthesia.
