ABSTRACT: Lungworms can affect domestic dogs and wild canids and infection may be life-threatening if not treated. This article gives an update on the prevalence of the lungworm infection and its spread in the UK. It also discusses current licensed medication for treatment and prevention and new tests available for diagnosis.
