What is a settlement agreement?
Formerly known as ‘compromise agreements, settlement agreements are one of the ways in which a potentially difficult employment relationship can be ended with legally binding terms agreed by both parties. They are generally used when other attempts at resolving employment issues such as disciplinary or grievance procedures are deemed inappropriate or have failed.
