The Daphne Shipman Benevolent Fund was set up in memory of veterinary nurse Daphne Shipman.

Daphne was the Chief Steward for BVNA, during Congress, for many years and was loved by all who knew her. Sadly, after living with cancer, Daphne sadly passed away in June 1999.

The fund has been made available to BVNA members with the objective of supporting members, their spouses, relations or dependents who are in need, hardship or distress.

The fund is available on the basis of donations agreed by the DSBF to members who hold at least two years’ continuous membership with BVNA. Collective claims will not be considered and please note that claims to replace loss of wages for reasons other than ill health are not eligible.
