Abstract: A low survival rate following cardiopulmonary arrest is commonly cited in veterinary medicine. A resuscitation code should be identified from owners, and appropriate information provided so this can be an informed decision. This can be a difficult but essential conversation for veterinary staff to have with pet owners. This study was completed to identify veterinary nurse confidence in providing information to owners about cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Factors affecting confidence in these discussions were also identified, as well as how this can be improved in practice.
