Thank you to Linnaeus for kindly sponsoring this webinar:

Learning Objectives:
1. Examine the benefits and boundaries of surgical nursing in relation to Schedule 3 legislation.
2. Identify strategies for increasing surgical nursing opportunities.
3. Understand where to begin with performing minor surgical procedures including placing aural haematoma drains, wound debridement/closure and small mass removals.

Learning Synopsis:
As Registered Veterinary Nurses, we often encounter significant barriers against the effective utilisation of our surgical nursing skills within the remit of the Schedule 3 legislation. This session aims to explore these barriers and promote the benefits of surgical nursing in everyday practice to ensure our skillset goes beyond notes and revision cards of our student training days. We will identify suitable opportunities for beginning a nurse lead surgical nursing service alongside useful tips on performing minor surgical procedures.
