Lecture Synopsis:
In this lecture we will be looking at the newest advances in heat stroke research and how that impacts veterinary practice.
We will aim to feel comfortable understanding the physiology of heat stroke, risk factors for developing it in canines, and grasp the newest research in management of heat stroke. We will also look at the care these patient’s need after periods of heat stroke.
We will also look at common myths surrounding heat stroke in canines, coupled with newer understanding of management techniques, to ensure we are practicing the most efficient treatments of the condition.

- Review the most current research in regards to heat stroke treatment
- Understand the first aid management of heat stroke
