BVNA members can have peace of mind with free access to our Members Advisory Service. This helpful support resource is provided to veterinary nurses when things may get a little tricky.

Employment law may be touched upon during veterinary nurse training, but we often aren’t aware of the questions we may have until specific queries arise.

Our Members Advisory Service is delivered by experienced professionals who have been providing expert advice, since 1999, to our members on a range of subjects including legal issues, employment law, redundancy, disciplinary, grievance, contracts, matrimonial and financial matters.

Since 2014, our Members Advisory Service has been used by over 2,500 of our members!

If you’re already a BVNA member, you can find the contact details here.

Who we are

BVNA is the largest membership body of RVNs, SVNs and other associated professions in the UK, with around 6,500 members.

As a caring, committed and skilled community, we believe that the veterinary nursing profession deserves to be championed. As a veterinary nurse, you are essential in advocating for the welfare of the animals and people around you. That’s why we’re here to advocate for you.

We represent veterinary nurses within the wider veterinary industry, the landscape in which it operates, and amongst the public.

What we do

We ensure our members’ voices are not just heard, but listened to.

We lobby UK Government and Defra, alongside other industry stakeholders and policymakers, taking our members’ views to the highest level.

We empower individuals to drive positive change for the whole profession, and the future of veterinary nursing.

We enable our members to develop, thrive, and feel connected as part of our community.

We motivate and inspire, whilst keeping members up to date with the current evidence base – whether attending our annual BVNA Congress, dipping into The Veterinary Nursing Journal, or joining an online or in-person CPD event.

We support our members; providing access to a legal advisory service, toolkits and resources, plus financial support and bursaries.
