AWF

This year the AWF Discussion Forum takes place on Wednesday 15 September, on the theme: ‘Protecting animal welfare in a changing world’. The event will take on a new virtual format with a programme of engaging sessions set to further the conversation around animal welfare.

The Discussion Forum offers something for the whole veterinary team, and tickets for veterinary nurses are just £25.

This CPD event promises to be an engaging and interactive experience. All sessions will include live Q&As with expert speaker panels, allowing you to take part in audience-led discussion and debate.

There will be plenty of opportunity to network with other delegates throughout the day, with chances to meet AWF trustees, AWF funded researchers and speakers. You can enjoy extra content during the breaks as well.

The programme features two big debates plus an in-depth discussion on how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting animal welfare, the veterinary professions and the charity sector.

Sessions include:

  • Innovation and overtreatment – Does the desire to innovate compromise companion animal welfare?
  • Covid-19: Upholding animal welfare in the face of a pandemic
  • Farming, sustainability, and welfare – What are the interactions between farming methods, production systems, sustainability, and welfare?
  • What are we doing to improve welfare? AWF-funded research updates

Previous delegates have described the event as “current, controversial and educational” and a “brilliant opportunity to discuss and learn about some very relevant issues.”
