Are you involved in veterinary mental health research? Do you have an idea for a research project, but need some support to get it off the ground?
Every year since 2019, the Mind Matters Initiative has awarded a £20,000 grant to a veterinary mental health research project. The funding is open to researchers at any stage of their career including students, academics and people working in practice.
A study into all areas of veterinary mental health can be put forward for the funding, with previous winners using the grant to fund studies into workplace stressors for autistic vets, wellbeing of farm vets, impacts of racism on mental health and moral injury.
The deadline has been extended for this year’s grant to 5pm Thursday 2 June 2022. You can find out more about how to apply and get support with your application by visiting the MMI website.
As well as receiving the funding, the people behind the winning application will also:
- Attend the RCVS Day Award Ceremony on 8 July
- Have their study publicised on the RCVS website and across all RCVS social media channels
- Receive media support from RCVS – in previous years, winners have had support with participant recruitment and presented their findings at the MMI Research Symposium
