Every year during the month of May, the veterinary profession celebrates Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month (VNAM), proudly spearheaded by the BVNA.
In 2024, we celebrate 20 years since the campaign began – from its early beginnings as Veterinary Nursing Awareness Day from 2004, and since 2012 we’ve been campaigning for the whole month.
This year, the campaign theme is ‘Progression’ – with the aim of highlighting the diverse range of skills, abilities and career pathways of veterinary nurses. We’ll also be raising awareness amongst the public about why protecting the ‘veterinary nurse’ title is so crucial.
Competition: Your #VNAM2024, Your Way
Our annual VNAM competition is back! We know that it’s currently a challenging time for the veterinary profession, and when teams are busy and stretched, time and capacity can be very limited. But – we still fundamentally believe that veterinary nurses everywhere deserve to be championed.
That’s why this year, we’re inviting you to get involved – with complete flexibility over how. Your #VNAM2024, your way!
To enter our competition, simply show us any activities you are carrying out this May to educate the general public about #WhatVNsDo – and vitally, why the ‘veterinary nurse’ title needs to be protected in law.
You can enter:
- As an individual, as a nursing team, or as a whole practice/workplace team
- Whether you work in or out of clinical practice
- Whether you work in small animal, equine, farm, exotic, first opinion, referral, education or in industry (or any combination!)
We’ll be selecting two winners and two runners-up – each winning either a £100 or £50 Love2Shop voucher!
